Chocolate Holiday Santa Muffins

This recipe is a fun twist on a classic vegan and gluten free chocolate muffin. I think the strawberry Santa hats are the cutest topping as a Christmas decoration, and it is super easy to do.

  • cup gluten free oat flour
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup +2 tbsp almond milk
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Dairy free whipped cream, cool whip, or frosting
  • Strawberries


  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together the water, almond milk, coconut oil, vanilla extract, coconut sugar, and maple syrup.
  • Now add in the the dry ingredients (oat flour, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder). Mix until well combined.
  • Pour the batter about ¾ of the way full into a lined muffin tin. Bake for 16-18 ,minutes.
  • While the muffins are baking prepare the strawberries but cutting off the stem.
  • Wait for the muffins to cool completely, then add down a layer of whipped cream followed by the strawberry. Finish with a pompom of whipped cream at the top of the strawberry.
