Get ready for another flavor packed Asian recipe! I love a recipe that incorporates fresh herbs from my herb garden! These mini chicken cilantro egg rolls will make the perfect appetizer or side!
Instead of using a big egg roll wrapper, I used small wonton wrappers to make these egg rolls miniature! I’ve always been a fan of bite size treats because I think they are so cute and easy to eat.
To cook these egg rolls I used my air fryer to crisp them up. This was is healthier and much easier than deep frying. I hate dealing with a pot of oil after I’m frying, and the airy fryer gets them just as crisp!
Key ingredients for these mini chicken cilantro egg rolls:
- Ground chicken
- I decided to use ground chicken breast to keep the calories lower, however, ground chicken thighs will make the egg rolls even juicer. I would
- Cilantro
- This is the star of the show. I always have some growing in my herb garden and it makes me so happy when I get to use it! This give a brightness to the chicken that no other herb would!
- Green onion, garlic, ginger
- This is the ultimate trio in Chinese cooking! If you are making any sauce or meat, you always want to include these three ingredients!
- Soy sauce
- This give a great salty, umami flavor! Don’t skip of this!
- Oyster sauce
- This is kind of a mixture between soy sauce and barbecue sauce. It adds saltiness and sweetness at the same time! I use this one from Amazon.
- Sesame oil
- Add this to the meat mixture last! It helps keep the meat juicy and also adds a nice flavor!
- Sugar
- A small amount of this will go a long way, however, if you forget this ingredient it will make a huge difference.
- Salt
- Definitely don’t forget the salt!!!
- White pepper
- White pepper has a more subtle flavor compared to black pepper. It has less spice but it complements the Asian condiments perfectly.
